Beautiful, historic 500 year old family villa conveniently located in San Casciano, amidst the stunning rolling hills, Cypress trees and grapevines of Chianti country. San Casciano is a short drive from Firenze and also accessible from there by local bus. Excellent base for pecorino tasting and wine tasting! The villa is a very short walk to the center of town. Ample sized rooms and suites with very high ceilings. Period furniture and crests of the family adorn the reception area and individual rooms.
The warm and generous hospitality of our hosts, Alessandra, Ahmed and Lorenzo remain in our hearts and memories. Super chef Lorenzo (who was on Channel 1, the main TV station) prepares outstanding breakfasts for the villa’s guests. How amazing it is to awake in the mornings to the wafts of Lorenzo’s creations in the oven!
The outdoor swimming pool is under construction and is due to be completed in about a month. Usually guests are able to have Lorenzo’s amazing breakfasts on the patio against the stunning backdrop of the Chianti hills. This visit breakfast was served in the indoor historic dining room due to the pool construction. Breakfast on the patio with its scenic overlook will resume very soon!
I stayed here last year and returned this year — I yearned for my dose of San Casciano and Villa Il Fedino and Lorenzo’s culinary delights!

This property is beautiful! Benedetta is a wonderful host and very kind! There are many amazing restaurants within walking distance. (I highly suggest walking the 10 minutes instead of driving)

Peaceful, with beautiful Vistas.
Peaceful, with beautiful Vistas. The Staff was outstanding with smiles and open arms for any assistance we needed. Cooking class was fun, learning many new things none of us had known with our delightful chef who was patient and knowledgeable. Dinner at the restaurant was full of wonderful foods. The perfect place to explore wineries and take it down a few notches to relax and unwind.

I would imagine that, like me, most people go there to visit the famous Antinori wine estate, one of the most spectacular & lavish wine estates for visitors in Europe, and one of the few that are comparable with what you would find in California, South Africa or South America. There's not a great deal else here that I am aware of - it's basically a few small villages. Good location for visiting other neighbouring parts of Chianti though. And, as noted in my review elsewhere of the Albergo Bargino, its attached fish restaurant, the Trattoria del Pesce, is worth a visit in itself.

This town in the middle of Tuscany is breath taking.
This town in the middle of Tuscany is breath taking. In the middle of everywhere yet close to Florence making your return to the airport very convenient. The area is surrounded by wineries, restaurants, pizzerias and gelato shops making the panorama painteresque and unique to the area. Perfect starting point for biking too. Must visit.

The location of the town was perfect for us, as we came to have our own wine tour.
We had about a 30-40 minutes drive (tops) to each of our pins on the wine map we planned!
There are vineyards all around :)

The area was lovely, with villas and wineries everywhere.
The area was lovely, with villas and wineries everywhere. Did some of our own cooking, but also ate out.
A bus trip to Florence was worth doing.
Driving to villages/places worked well. Castellina, Radda and Volpaia our favourites.
Driving could be a little difficult on the narrow roads (for two cars to stay on the bitumen)... and buses.
We were given a bottle of wine from our winery stay, and saw the beginning of the grape harvest.

We stayed here 5 nights for a wedding at a venue very closeby (castello il Palagio) and we very much enjoyed our stay. The family hosting was really kind, accommodating and helpful. They gifted us with a bottle of wine at our arrival! The appartment was very comfortable and well equipped, it was nice to be able to make our morning coffee and have breakfast outside every morning. The hot tub room was really beautiful and fun though there’s a fee for using it. If you’re looking for a homey, authentic experience of rural tuscany this is it!
Excellent gem of a hotel set in the Tuscan hills. The terrace has great views. Breakfast was very good, lots of home made little cakes/pastries. We caught the bus into Florence, takes about 40 minutes and cost 7 euros one way. The bus station is within 5 min walk of the hotel. It takes you to bus station just outside the main city, about 20 minute walk to the Uffizi. The town has a good variety of restaurants all within 10 min walk. We ate at cinque di vino, highly recommended. Felt like a genuine Italian town. We loved it.
Great hotel, but there was no air conditioner in the room. Given we travel from the usa and are used to ac, this was a bit of a negative since it gets hot. However, they have a fan which helps. Also, the breakfast is light a toast with jam and a croisant, nothing special. Overall is a nice place. Also, keep in mind this is not a winery. When we booked we thought we would stay at a winery and have wine tasting but this is just a bed and breakfast with nice views and a small pool. Good for quite time.
The people that run the place were super accommodating. The Palazzo was recently remodeled so everything was modern, plenty of hot water. On the booking page it said two bedrooms and one bathroom but there were two full bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen and the bedrooms were enormous.
The town itself was lovely. It’s close to Florence but is not crowded with tourists, just the local folks going about their business. It’s a great place to base out of if planning to explore the hills of Chianti.
We had a wonderful time at the Villa. The location is perfect for exploring the hill towns nearby. The hotel recommended a great winery for tasting. We had been to many others previously, but this one was unique with a cheese tasting as well. The dinners at the hotel were wonderful and the staff at dinner, particularly Massimo, was excellent.
The hotel grounds are beautiful, serene and relaxing. Gorgeous area. We loved it.
Wow - this is what you imagine when you think about Tuscany. Simply perfect. The hotel was great and the surrounding area even more. There is even a perfect pool, so I imagine that during the summer months, this gets even better. The food was awesome, we really enjoyed the breakfast and also dinner one night. We really hope that we will come again here!
Best breakfast we had for years - fresh and regional products, homemade cakes, cooked-to-order eggs - just excellent! Free parking, very nicely located on top of the hills with great view in the morning. Free heated pool with sauna. Free bathrobe and slippers. Very friendly and well English-speaking staff (not self-evident even in good Italian hotels!)
Breakfast, view and restaurant are exceptional! The best I've seen in Italy. The restaurant is truly amazing - perfect wine list, fabulous menu and service! I love that place! Cosy, authentic, peaceful, stylish, perfection in small details, warm service, but strictly professional... Joy for the body and mind. Exceptional hotel.
It’s a beautiful Italian Villa, which reflects the greatness of Tuscany. A place that holds the best of the region, their traditional arquitecture, exquisite food and warm feeling of the hosts. Incredible views of Tuscany and the town is perfect for a night stroll with A-class restaurants. Simply a 10/10 experience.
We were looking for accommodation for one night close to Florence. The pool and view from it and the restaurant were fantastic!
The lunch menu looked fantastic but we only had the dinner which unfortunately was one of our least favourite meals on the trip- it may have been what we ordered.
We stayed in an apartment about a 10-minute drive from the main hotel, accessed via a ride on a dirt road. The apartment was well equipped for our needs, including hosting a dinner for eight people. It featured amazing views and a pool that is a major highlight in the summer.
Incredible. We loved this property. It's beautiful, in a great location and the staff is exceptional. Great location for exploring Tuscany and easy day trips to Florence.
Highly recommend the castle tour and wine tasting with Ms. Jillian, it was a highlight of our stay.
Very friendly host that made me feel at home. Definitely will come back. The room is very quiet, ideal to relax and very nice, located in the center of the town with good restaurants, free parking and bars at walking distance.
As they are refurbishing the hotel, they offered us a villa which was big and very nice, clean and well decorated, and had a beautiful view! The breakfast was really good, and the location beautiful.
Fantastic location and facilities. Nice room, quiet and very “off the beaten path”. The views are spectacular and the short ride to Florence was beautiful.
