Uffizi Gallery
What makes Florence the epicentre of art? All of it; but specifically the Uffizi Gallery. Its collections cover the ages, but its darlings will always be Renaissance born. You won’t find a better Art History 101 refresher. Hours wilt away inside this U-shaped mansion. The Birth of Venus tops many a best-of list. Better book tickets in advance – the masterworks cause quite a queue.

Get tickets for 8:15 AM, go with nothing but your camera and don't check your coat. Head directly to the Botticellis, and then to the Da Vinci's, Raphaels and the Michelangelo to enjoy them without the crowd, and then double back for the Gothic paintings. Do NOT make the mistake of pausing to view sculptures on the entrance level. Do NOT get distracted by the Gothic masters. Speed walk to the Botticellis and then the Ninja Turtles or you'll be viewing them across crowds jostling for selfies.

Packed with stunning art work including “Spring” and “The birth of Venus” by Botticelli. We looked at most of the works and spent 3 1/2 hours there. The queues were long, I’d advise prebooking your tickets.

1. DEFINITELY get "skip the line" tickets. 2. Don't forget that you still have to wait in line to exchange the "skip the line" tickets for the admission tickets. 3. Don't forget you then have to wait in line with all the other "skip the line" ticket holders to actually get in. Plan accordingly and enjoy the FABULOUS art!

My second time going: make the reservation, folks!! You want to get in early and take your time. I wish I knew more about the ceilings and walls of the actual building. I must, must, must see for anyone slightly interested in art. I can't wait to return again!

Book tickets in advance, or you will end up waiting on line for an hour or more. Also, do some research before coming here. It's a big museum and you can get overwhelmed if you spend a long time looking at everything. Instead, you want to make sure you see the highlights: Botticelli's Birth of Venus, Laocoon statue, Titian's Medussa, the Da Vinci section, and a few other major, major works of art that you know you'd feel bad if you missed. To me, the remainder of the works are a bit of a bonus--I stopped to look at the ones that especially called to me (there were a lot; I was here for 4 hours), but decided I didn't have to feel guilty about walking past if others didn't pique my interest.
Oh, and please note that David is NOT in this gallery. David is at the Academia down the street. I saw some people make that mistake.

It's huge.
It's huge. Try not to spend too much time at the ancient statues that line both sides of the gallery. They are worth it, but you will be too tired to enjoy the masterpieces of old masters when you eventually reach them.

Lovely spacious property. Great facilities. Friendly and helpful staff. We were able to leave our luggage there after we checked out until it was time for us to leave Florence .
Brilliant location . Within walking distance of Uffizi Gallery , Duomo Cathedral and Baptist chapel Royal Accademy gallery ( Michelangelo’s David ) Palazzo Vecchio ,Ponte vecchio bridge . Palzzo Stozzi , Medici chapels ,and many more important sites .
Host met us at the property and showed us around the flat.
A truly lovely entrance hall.
A very clean and well equipped flat with airconditioning, washing machine and full kitchen
The flat is just a 5 minute walk from the local station, and a pleasant 15 minute walk to the Uffizi Gallery.
The location was good - very close to the Uffizi gallery which was one of our planned visits. Shops and markets also close. Not too far to walk to the river and the Ponte Vecchio.
Eduardo met us at the location and spent a few minutes with us to point out a nearby grocery store. The location is close to the river and Uffizi Gallery. The apartment space is enough for several folks with lots of cupboards. The cost was reasonable and we were able to prepare breakfasts and snacks in the private kitchen area.
The location was fabulous-just across the Arno and close to Ponte Vecchio and Uffizi Gallery. The master bedroom was nicely appointed and the bathrooms were bright and modern. This is a great apartment for a couple or single person who isn't interested in spending a lot of time there.
The location of the property was perfect, right in the center of Florence and a few steps away from the Uffizi Gallery. The apartment was nice, clean and comfortable, very well equipped with all you may need. The host was very kind and helpful and provided us with useful information about the city, its history, etc. We would stay again!
We chose the Classic Hotel because it was very close to our destination. We were just steps away from the Boboli Gardens, and a 20-minute walk from the Ponte Vecchio, Palazzo Pitti, and the Uffizi Gallery. The setting is delightful, on Viale dei Colli, and the building is a late 19th-century mansion, near Porta Romana, surrounded by greenery, in a peaceful and quiet setting. The concierges were very helpful and kind.

Spend the day wandering around the Uffizi and the Duomo (for a more enriching experience join a tour or two especially to gain access to exclusive areas, rent an audioguide or download a walking tour audioguide on your phone), have a coffee in Piazza Republica in the evening, followed by dinner at a trattoria nearby, then walk around to Ponte Vecchio to enjoy a live performance
